Lantern Tops Ohio SPJ Honors

The Lantern, Ohio State's student newspaper, has been named the Best College Newspaper in the Buckeye State for 2011, while three writers also received honors in annual awards sponsored by the Ohio Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.

Writing awards went to:

• 1st place (Best News Writing): Dylan Tussel
• 1st place (Best Sports Writing): James Oldham
• 2nd Place (Best Feature): Kelsey Buller

The annual competition includes SPJ chapters in Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus, and also recognizes the state's best professional journalists. The awards will be presented  Oct. 22 in Cleveland.
